Racing at high speeds is a modus operandi for JB Layman.
He has over 10 years of wins in Offshore Boat Racing, plus a World Championship. He and his team took a new boat design and made it a winner, beating boats in faster classes than their own. The boat, “Ocean Outboard” had 5 Series wins, a 2nd place in the Region, and a World Championship (www.pacificoffshore.com).
In Tunnel Boat Racing, JB raced competitively for two years in the Southeast. He hit speeds up to 115 mph, and could make a 90 ° turn at 115 mph. Tunnel Boats are one of the fastest turning vehicles on the water (www.riverroar.com).
In his spare time, JB enjoys riding motorcycles through the scenic curves of the North Georgia Mountains and surfing in Hawaii.
His wife, Tannis Layman is a Registered Nurse from Canada and Grand Cayman, and his #1 Pit Crew at every motorcycle race. They plan to start a family in the next few years.
It didn’t take long for JB to develop a love for motorcycle riding. He first started street riding in 1999, from the inspiration of Bob Lacoste and friends from Florida. JB attended his first motorcycle races in 2003/2004. JB is look forward to climbing the ranks in the AMA Pro Racing Superbike Series. He will compete in AMA Formula 1, Superstock, and Supersport Classes. (www.amasuperbike.com).
